Data Protection at Guardz is an efficient way to identify any exposed cloud data that is being shared with external parties or even publicly with a link. This type of sharing occurs on a regular basis, both intentionally (data exfiltration) and unintentionally (accidental shares). The Guardz Data Protection App has consistently focused on detection, with remediation options such as adding assets to allow lists, notifying users or utilizing manual playbooks.
But all that has changed. Administrators can now remove external shares and public links with the click of the button. This new automated remediation is available for Microsoft and Google, though it’s possible that admins will need to grant additional Google permissions if the latest app isn’t already installed. If required, a notification can be seen on the dashboard about the missing Google scopes and a link to grant them.
