Troubleshooting: Failed to Verify Scopes on Microsoft

Updated yesterday

Overview

In some cases during the installation of one of Guardz applications (there are 4–5 different apps, each aligned with a specific security control), an admin installing a new app on behalf of a customer may encounter a scope verification error. This typically occurs when the installation is configured for specific users or groups, rather than being applied to the entire organization with full required permissions.

Additionally, the error may appear if one of the required permissions has been mistakenly revoked.

Troubleshooting

Scenario 1: Unable to login:

  1. Make sure you are logged in as admin

  2. Re-install the app

Scenario 2: “Timed-out waiting for scopes to be verified”:

  1. Navigate to your installed services in Microsoft Azure apps list (make sure you are logged in with admin permission)

  2. Select the Guardz app you tried to install

  3. Navigate to Security > Permissions

  4. Click on ‘Grant admin consent for Guardz support - MS 365

5. Grant all required permissions
