1. Microsoft Directory integration

Once the permissions are granted, Guardz will monitor the user's configuration, such as missing MFA, inactive users, etc., and raise an alert when an issue is found.

To activate the integration, go to Security Control > 'Primary Cloud Directory' or add a customer to the MSP account. As part of the integration, you'll need to install the Guardz Detection application.

Prerequisites required for Microsoft Directory installation

Activation must be done by an Admin in the Microsoft 365 account

Installation of 'Guardz Detection' Application

  • Navigate to the Security Control > Primary Cloud Directory > Click on 'Connect'

  • Connect Cloud Directory: Review the information and click 'Install'

  • Pick an Account: Choose the account you wish to connect to Guardz

  • Permission Required: Review the 'Guardz Detection' permissions.

  • To verify successful installation, make sure the 'Primary Cloud Directory' and the 'User & Security Posture' are set to 'Active,' and the number of users should be visible.

2. OneDrive & ShareDrive integrations

Once the integration is in place, Guardz will scan your files and folders and raise an alert when an External share or suspicious activity is detected.
To implement Data Protection (DLP) for Google Drive, you'll need to install the 'Cloud Data Protection' application.

Prerequisites required for Microsoft OneDrive & SharePoint installation

Activation must be done by an Admin in the Microsoft 365 account.

Installation of 'Guardz Data Protection'

  • Navigate to the Security Control > Cloud Data Protection > Click on the '+' sign.

    Choose the app: Microsoft 365 > click 'Connect'

  • Connect Cloud Data Protection: Review the information and click 'Install'

  • Pick an Account: Choose the account you wish to connect to Guardz


3. Email integrations

Integrating Guardz with your email service will enable email protection. Guardz will scan your users' inboxes and raise issues when a risk is detected: Viruses, risky files, or spam emails.

Prerequisites required for Email Protection installation

Activation must be done by an Admin in the Microsoft 365 account.

Installation of 'Email Protection'

  • Pick an Account: Choose the account you wish to connect to Guardz

  • Review the 'Guardz Email Security' permissions.

  • To verify successful installation, make sure Email Protection security control is now set to 'Active' and you can view the number the protected mailboxes.

FAQ Microsoft Integrations

  • Question: How often does Guardz scan M365?

    • 📍Answer: In general, every Guardz feature has a different scan cycle.

      The primary directory is scanned every 1 hour, and DLP is scanned once a day.
