Shared Mailbox Utilization (Release Notes January 2025)

Updated this week

This update streamline the management of shared mailboxes, reduce unnecessary detections, and improve navigation.
This allows focusing on actionable insights while ensuring a cleaner, more efficient workflow.

Please note:

For Microsoft, Guardz identifies shared mailboxes based on how they are defined in Microsoft 365—only mailboxes explicitly converted to shared in the Microsoft Admin Center are treated as shared rather than personal

What’s New?

  1. Shared Mailbox Identification on the Users Page:

    • Easily spot shared mailboxes with a new dedicated indicator.

    • Use the Mailbox Type filter to quickly navigate and focus on shared mailboxes, saving you time and improving efficiency.

  2. Issue Management for Shared Mailboxes:

    • Reduced noise by preventing irrelevant issues from being opened for shared mailboxes, such as:

      • Browsing: No more unnecessary alerts related to browser activity.

      • Awareness: Shared mailboxes are now excluded from phishing campaigns and awareness detection. Although campaigns can still be sent to these mailboxes, no detections will be triggered if the assignments are not completed.

      • Inactive Users: Avoid confusion with inactivity flags on shared mailboxes.
