Approved Locations Modes

Updated yesterday

Approved Locations now provide more controls for how Guardz handles sign-ins from outside trusted locations.

This update improves ITDR signal quality, reduces false positives, and introduces an optional automatic suspension response for faster containment.

You can now choose how the platform reacts when a user signs in from outside those locations:

  • Accuracy Mode

  • Alerting Mode (Microsoft 365 only)

  • Enforcement Mode (Microsoft 365 only)

Navigate to ITDR to manage your Approved Locations whitelist and modes.

Breaking Changes - improving coverage & accuracy

The following entries are no longer supported and will not appear in the platform:

  • City-level

  • Non-US state-level

  • Auto-added (behavior-based) locations

Review your Approved Locations whitelist to ensure it reflects your current trusted locations.
For city-level and auto-added entries, add the corresponding states or countries.

Existing country-level, US state, and IP-based entries remain unchanged.
